They’re effectively leading the charge around the world in the fight against covid and battle to contain it, however Australia is once again seeing the State of Victoria, including the city of Mekbourne, go into lockdown.
Despite the Australian Open tennis tournament still going on, a 5 day lockdown has been ordered to control an outbreak of the highly infectious strain of Covid-19 that was first detected in the UK.
The Oz Open tennis will be able to continue but without the thousands of fans in attendance which the tournament has enjoyed since Monday.
Authorities are to review the situation on Monday next.
