Emma Mhic Mhathúna, one of the women caught up in the Cervical Check scandal, has passed away aged just 37.
Quest Diagnostics, the US lab involved in the case, had admitted liability after ‘misreading’ a number of smear slides back in 2010 and 2013.
According to RTÉ News, Ms Mhic Mhathúna sadly passed away on Sunday morning.
Ms. Mhic Mhathúna settled her case against the HSE and Quest Diagnostics for €7.5m. She leaves five children behind.
