One of the most famous Bishops to ever come from Ireland has died this afternoon aged 89.
Bishop Eamon Casey made worldwide headlines in 1992 when an American woman named Annie Murphy announced he was the father of her son, Peter.
Both Annie and Peter now live in America, and after a 12 year absence, Bishop Casey returned to Ireland and ended up living in a nursing home in County Clare where he peacefully passed away this afternoon.
He would have been 90 next month.
