A body was recovered during the search for a missing fisherman off the northeast coast near Teelin, Co Donegal, by a local fishing vessel just before 6pm today.
The search began after a member of the public reported a boat aground 4km south of Mullaghmore Head, Co Sligo, on Thursday evening, with its engine still running, suggesting the fisherman fell overboard.
The Coast Guard, coordinating from Malin Head Maritime Rescue Sub Centre, ended the three-day intensive search today and expressed gratitude to the search units, local fishing vessels, An Garda SÃochána, and the community for their support.
Locals say they’ll hold a Mass for the man tomorrow.
