A body has been discovered close to the location where two sisters disappeared in Scotland earlier this month, leading to an extensive search operation.

The sisters, Eliza and Henrietta Huszti, both aged 32 and originally from Hungary, were last seen on CCTV footage crossing Victoria Bridge on Market Street in Aberdeen at approximately 2:12 AM on January 7. They were observed heading towards the Aberdeen Boat Club along a footpath next to the River Dee.

On Friday, authorities confirmed that a woman’s body had been retrieved from the River Dee east of the boat club. Although the body has not been formally identified, the family of Henrietta Huszti has been notified. Police Scotland stated there are “no apparent suspicious circumstances” related to this discovery, but they continue the search for Eliza Huszti.

The sisters, part of a set of triplets, had visited the bridge where they were last seen about 12 hours before their disappearance. They also sent a text message to their landlady indicating they would not be returning to their flat. This case has had a significant impact on the local community and beyond, with police urging anyone with information to come forward.
