Ireland may once again be a country that has a so-called “hard border” on its shores after a failed Brexit vote in the House of Commons last evening.
In breaking news in Dublin tonight, it’s understood that the government is scrambling to implement contingency plans for a “hard Brexit” which could conceivably see a physical or so-called “hard border” being erected once again along the border between the Republic of Ireland and the north.
It’s understood today that governmental officials are trying to come up with alternatives to such a hard border but now it looks like border checks may drastically be once again part of Ireland’s day to day activities.
