Coronavirus deaths in Italy increased 475 in one day. The 19 percent increase is the biggest jump in numbers since the disease first appeared in the country last month, authorities said today.
The total number of deaths in Italy now stands at 2,978, with 35,713 cases compared to the previous 31,506, an increase of 13.35% in just 24 hours, according to the civil protection agency.
Italy is the most affected country in Europe and remains in lockdown except for people who are only allowed travel if they had reasons such as work or medical treatment.
