The Italian government plans to quarantine the entire region of Lombardy around Milan in an effort to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
According to Italian media, the areas around Venice and the cities of North Parma and Rimini are also subject to restrictions with some reporting that it will be a “one in, one out Martial Law” type of regime.
A government draft seen by the Italian newspaper ‘Corriere Della Sera’ and other media outlets are reporting that entry and exit into the regions would be severely restricted until at least April 3.
This is a major development in Italy’s fight against the mass outbreak of Covid-19.
