It now appears as though the coronavirus is spreading fast in the Republic of Ireland.
The HSE have announced that a total of seven new cases have been confirmed in the Republic of Ireland as of Thursday evening.
It’s understood that four cases are from people connected to travel from Northern Italy making up of four males from the east of Ireland.
Two people are associated with close contact of someone who already had the coronavirus, while two females are from the west of country.
One other case is a male patient in Cork University Hospital who had no contact with anyone who travelled abroad.
It means that that the total number of coronavirus cases in Ireland is now 13.
