BREAKING: Five migrants, all family members of Jozef Puska, have been jailed for terms of 20 months to two-and-a-half years of offences linked to Ashling Murphy




Members of the family of convicted murderer Jozef Puska have been sentenced to prison terms ranging from 20 months to two-and-a-half years for offences linked to the murder of Ashling Murphy almost four years ago.

RTÉ reports that Puska’s brothers, Marek Puska and Lubomir Puska, along with his wife Lucia Istokova, were convicted of withholding information from gardaí, an offence carrying a maximum sentence of five years. The brothers each received two-and-a-half years, while Istokova was jailed for 20 months.

Furthermore, according to RTÉ, Jozef Puska’s sisters-in-law, Viera Gaziova and Jozefina Grundzova, were found guilty of assisting an offender by burning Puska’s clothes after the January 2022 murder of Ms Murphy. This offence has a maximum penalty of ten years. Gaziova was sentenced to two years, and Grundzova to one year and nine months.
