BREAKING: Practically FULL ‘lockdown’ – Varadkar imposes massive new restrictions in Ireland to fight coronavirus outbreak bar a few exceptions




The number of deaths is 22 and the number of ICU patients has doubled since Monday.

He said that there’s been an increased number of clusters in nursing and care homes.

With effect from midnight tonight, for a two week basis until Easter Sunday, people must stay at home except for a very few exceptions.

Supermarkets, health reasons, pharmacies. People are only allowed go outside their house up to 2klm by themselves for exercise once a day – and with their kids, if they stay within 2 metres of other people.

Varadkar said that ALL non essential businesses must close from immediate effect from midnight. A list of non essential businesses will be posted tonight on the government’s website.

The Taoiseach said that he is asking the public to come together for the next two weeks in an effort to help our health service to cope.

He said that the whole world is suffering and Ireland is no different and to show that you care and stay at home.

People must not gather in public or private – elderly people must stay at home ‘cocooned’. Everybody must stay at home at all costs bar very few exceptions.
