Gardaí in North Co Dublin have launched an investigation after the body of a baby was discovered in Balbriggan this morning.
According to The Irish Mirror newspaper, the baby was discovered on a beach shortly before 10am.
Gardaí investigating the case say they have sealed off the scene in order for a forensic examination to take place.
They also say they have deep concerns for the mother’s welfare and are appealing to her to come forward and contact them.
