BREAKING: Garda investigation underway into video footage of today’s M50 car crash




Gardai are said to have launched an investigation into video footage that was recorded and shared on social media today.

The footage was that of a person who was killed from horrendous injuries in a crash on a slip road on the M50 leaving for the Finglas turnoff.

The crash at junction 5 involved a truck and a car and occurred at 11:30am this morning.

The disturbing footage emerged on whatsapp early this afternoon showing the crash scene before emergency services arrived at the scene.

Members of The Liberal team saw the video early in the afternoon with one reporter receiving it on a whatsapp message.

The video is 8 seconds long with text reading “F**k me that’s bad”.

It’s understood that garda were made aware of the video footage and have launched an investigation into whether it was illegal to share the footage in the first place.

Many people on social media have been outraged by the footage being posted and shared.

Upon deleting the video, we then were notified that it was being shared on SnapChat and various other platforms.

Please, if you receive this video – for curiosty to the deceased and their family, just delete it immediately and do not watch it. If you see it being shared, report it immediately.
