Gardai are now on site at a residence in Dublin where a teenager has died and multiple other people injured following what gardai are describing as an “incident at a property”.
Locals say they heard shouting and have described the entire scene as extremely distressing.
Gardaà are investigating the fatal stabbing of a teenager at a care facility in Donaghmede, Co Dublin.
The Liberal understands the deceased youth was a foreign national, with other foreign nationals among the injured in the incident.
The disturbance occurred around midday at a residential home in the Grattan Wood apartment complex, involving multiple juveniles in what gardaà described as a serious altercation. Violence broke out inside the property, leaving at least three people slashed or stabbed. One juvenile sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Several others, including at least two females, managed to flee the scene. The area has been sealed off as a crime scene, with two apartment blocks cordoned. It is pending examination by the State Pathologist and Garda Technical Bureau.
Detectives believe the participants and victims were residents of the facility, treating the incident as isolated with no wider risk to the public. A senior investigating officer is overseeing an incident room. Gardaà are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them.
