A woman aged in her 80s has sadly died after she was struck by a bus in Dunleer, Co Louth this afternoon.
The incident happened at 12.20pm on Lower Main Street in the Co Louth village.
The woman was rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
The road has been closed for a technical examination of the scene and diversions are in place, including via the M1 motorway.
The woman is the fifth woman to be killed on Irish roads since Saturday, as four other women lost their lives in separate collisions over the weekend.
