A 16-yr-old boy has sadly been killed in a hit-and-run incident in Co Kildare.
The incident involved a vehicle and a pedestrian and occurred on the R403 in Blackwood near Robertstown at 12.30am this morning.
Gardai say that the vehicle left the scene.
The teenager was sadly fatally injured. His body has been taken to the mortuary at Naas General Hospital.
The R403 in Blackwood remains closed with diversions in place. A forensic examination of the scene by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators is due to take place this morning.
