
GardaĆ have announced that they recovered the body of a man from the water at Wicklow Harbour on Wednesday.
It followed an intensive search and rescue operation after the man got into difficulty while swimming.
The man was recovered by the Garda Sub Aqua unit. They were helped by the RNLI and Coast Guard this evening.
The man is said to have been aged in his 40s. His body has been removed from the scene and taken to St Columcille’s Hospital in Loughlinstown where a post mortem will take place in due course.
Investigations are ongoing and a file will be prepared for the Coroner’s Court.
