
Tragic news is emerging from Limerick today after gardai confirm that Irish team Olympic Boxing hopeful Kevin Sheehy has been killed in a hit-and-run in the city this morning.
It’s understood that he is expecting a baby with his girlfriend.
Mr Sheehy won numerous national titles and had competed in a number of international competitions in the UK and Europe.
He died when a jeep struck him as he walked on the footpath on Hyde Road, at 4:40am this morning.
Gardai confirm that the driver of black 4×4 Mitsubishi Shogun jeep kept going and didn’t stop.
