GardaĆ investigating the disappearance of 56-yr-old sheep farmer Michael Gaine from Kenmare, Co Kerry, have confirmed that human tissue found on his farm is his remains, according to the Garda Press Office in response to RTĆ News. Gaine has been missing since 20 March.
The tissue was discovered nine days ago in fields where a family friend was spreading slurry, prompting gardaĆ to declare the farmyard and adjacent fields a crime scene. The area has since been searched and examined by the Garda Technical Bureau, local Garda search teams, and the Defence Forces.
A man in his 50s, arrested last Sunday on suspicion of murder, was released without charge and denies involvement. The investigation continues from Killarney garda station, with a liaison officer keeping Gaineās family updated.
GardaĆ seek public assistance and can be contacted at Killarney garda station (064 66-71-160), the confidential line (1800 66-61-11), or any Garda station.
