Breaking: Hurricane Ophelia has made landfall in County Kerry




Hurricane Ophelia has made landfall in Southwest County Kerry. Winds started to brew at 5am will Met Eireann predicting we’ll see at 130klm winds throughout the day.

Last night, Met Eireann declared a RED ALERT warning for the entire country tonight as Hurricane Ophelia approaches Ireland.

ESB expect major outages right across the country with the national emergency response team claiming many trees will be felled and for people to stay indoors until the hurricane has passed north of County Antrim.

Initially the west of Ireland was in for the worst but then later yesterday, southwestern counties were added. Last night, a national emergency has been warned by Met Eireann.
