Tatiana Schlossberg, JFK’s Granddaughter and Environmental Journalist, Dies at 35
Tatiana Celia Kennedy Schlossberg, the granddaughter of President John F. Kennedy and a dedicated environmental journalist, passed away on December 30, 2025, at age 35. Her family announced the news through the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation, stating, “Our beautiful Tatiana passed away this morning. She will always be in our hearts.”
Daughter of Caroline Kennedy and Edwin Schlossberg, Tatiana was a Yale and Oxford graduate who worked as a science and climate reporter for The New York Times. She authored the book Inconspicuous Consumption and contributed to outlets like The Atlantic and The Washington Post, focusing on climate change and human environmental impact.
Diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in May 2024 shortly after giving birth to her second child, Tatiana shared her terminal illness in a poignant November 2025 New Yorker essay. She underwent chemotherapy, stem cell transplants, and clinical trials but succumbed just weeks later.
Survived by her husband George Moran, two young children, parents, and siblings Rose and Jack Schlossberg, Tatiana’s courage and advocacy leave a lasting legacy amid the Kennedy family’s enduring tragedies.
