BREAKING: Kanye West refused entry to UK over his comments about Jews – London’s Wireless Festival cancelled

Rapper Kanye West, now known as ‘Ye’, faces a potential ban from entering the UK after being announced as headliner for London’s Wireless Festival in July 2026.

The announcement sparked immediate backlash due to West’s history of remarks about Jews. He apologised for some of his remarks, attributing the comments to his bipolar disorder.

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer described the booking as “deeply concerning.” UK government ministers are now actively reviewing West’s permission to enter the country, with the Home Office considering powers under immigration rules to bar individuals whose presence is deemed not “conducive to the public good.”

Major sponsors, including Pepsi and Diageo, have already withdrawn support from the festival. Jewish advocacy groups and opposition politicians, including Conservative MP Chris Philp, have urged Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood to block West’s entry, citing precedents like his previous bans elsewhere.

As of April 2026, West has not yet formally applied for entry, but pressure continues to mount. The situation highlights ongoing debates around artistic freedom versus public accountability for inflammatory speech.
