BREAKING: Level 5 lockdown restrictions in place until April 5th – they’ll then be reviewed with possible easing

The lockdown level 5 restrictions will remain in effect until at least April 5, when they will be reviewed as part of the government’s new plan to live with Covid-19.

According to the Irish Indepedent, the Cabinet Committee on Covid-19 have agreed to keep level 5 restrictions for another 6 weeks amid concerns about the very high rate of new coronavirus cases on a daily basis.

Currently, there’s no other dates other than April 5th to ease restrictions on the government’s new plan, reports the Indepdent.

The plan has a vaccination target of 250,000 people per week from the beginning of April, a major increase from 100,000 people per week.

It’s also reported that up to 330,000 students will return to classes next Monday.
