
Lord Henry Mount Charles, the 8th Marquess Conyngham, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025, at age 74 after a long battle with cancer. Known for transforming Slane Castle in County Meath into a legendary concert venue, he hosted iconic acts like U2, The Rolling Stones, and Harry Styles since 1981.
His visionary leadership and contributions to Ireland’s cultural landscape, including the creation of Slane Whiskey, leave a lasting legacy. He is survived by his wife, Iona, and children, Tamara and Alex.
The family expressed gratitude to St. James’s Hospital staff for their compassionate care.
