There was a lucky escape for the people of Drogheda today after the Christmas lights in the town centre area smashed to the ground, alongside some capping off various buildings near the Tolshel.
Witnesses say that it’s a Christmas miracle no one was seriously injured or even killed, considering the weight of what fell.
One car’s back window was smashed in from the incident.
One local woman told The Liberal:
“The town is a disgrace, current and previous councillors don’t and didn’t care less about Drogheda, they’ve ruined West St and the town is obviously falling apart”.
