At least four people have been hospitalised following a crash involving a school bus near Newtownards in Co Down.
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) has announced that they are dealing with a “major incident” involving a bus carrying 43 schoolchildren and one driver in Co Down.
At least four patients will require hospital treatment while the rest of the passengers were assessed at the scene.
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed that they are currently on the scene of a traffic collision involving an overturned bus on Ballyblack Road East in Newtownards.
It’s understood that at least eight passengers were being treated for more significant injuries at the scene, while the rest sustained minor injuries or were uninjured.
Doctors, emergency crews, advanced paramedics, rapid response paramedics, ambulance officers and the air ambulance are all at the site at present.
“Please only call 999 if your situation is life-threatening while we deal with this incident,” it said.
