Gardai have confirmed this afternoon that a man aged in his 80s has died after a freak accident in which he fell off his mobility scooter while riding in a Cork city.
It’s understood that gardai are appealing for witnesses to the fatal accident in Kinsale, Co Cork, on Sunday morning.
Shortly after 9:30am, an 80-yr-old man was seriously injured when he fell from a mobility scooter on Cork Street in the popular tourist city of Cork.
The man was on his way home when the accident occurred with gardaí and paramedics rushing to the scene within minutes.
The man was transferred to the Cork University Hospital where doctors tried to stabilise his condition but sadly, he was pronounced dead a short time later.
