Gardaí in Co Wexford have confirmed that a man has been taken to hospital following an incident off the coast of Roslare this afternoon.
It is understood the man was taken to hospital with broken leg after getting into difficulties whilst kitesurfing near Lady’s Island at approximately 3:20pm.
Gardaí say the man was rescued by crews from Carnsore/Rosslare Coast Guard as well as crew on board Irish Coast Gaurd 117.
It is understood the man sustained injuries afrer he was blown against rocks in the area, he was later transferred to University Hospital Waterford.
The incident comes as the South Coast prepares for the brunt of Storm Lorenzo.
