Conor McGregor is one of the best known people on the planet at this stage, never mind Ireland, but he hasn’t let the fame or fortune get to his head.
At the heart of things, he’s still very much a man of the people, and very much in tune with the outrageous homeless crisis that has engulfed Ireland.
Conor has posted a video on his instagram page showing him patrolling the streets of Dublin city centre with his friend, Chris, who helps The Liberties Soup Run, a homeless charity that works tirelessly to help Dublin’s homeless community.
The Notorious MMA fighter can be seen chatting with the homeless and giving out plenty of clothes, hot food and drinks.
It’s a touching video, but more over – in essence it’s a video that highlights around the world Ireland’s disastrous homeless crisis that the government has done little to nothing to try and solve.
Ireland now has 17,000 homeless people – as we all sleep in our beds tonight, these people are sleeping in shop doorways, park benches, hotel rooms and everywhere and anywhere but a home of their own.
Conor McGregor has done what he can to highlight this issues, it’s time we all play out part and get some “skin in the game”.
