According to reports in Canada this evening at least two people are dead and 10 others have been injured after a van ploughed through a crowd of pedestrians in Toronto.
It is believed the group were struck by a van which was travelling between 60 and 70mph on Yonge Street and Finch Avenue East in the Canadian city.
Although it is not yet reported how many people have been killed in the incident which is thought to be a deliberate act.
Police say they were alerted to the incident shortly after 1pm (5pm Irish time) this afternoon.
It is reported that police have arrested the driver of the van.
