The Government have confirmed that the abortion referendum will be held on Friday the 25th May.
In announcement made this afternoon the Minister for Housing and Local Government Eoghan Murphy, said the date was set after all the terms set in the legislation set out by the Minister for Health Simon Harris had been officially passed in the Dáil.
Mr Murphy confirmed that polling will take place between the hours of 7am and 10pm..
He also informed those who wish to register their vote via post will have until April 28th.
Those wishing to vote in the referendum have been urged to check and see of they are registered at checktheregister.ie.
