Breaking: Met Eireann issue snow and ice weather warning for the entire country as temps plunge to -4c




The national weather forecaster, Met Eireann has issued a severe weather warning as snow and ice are predicted for the next 72 hours.

Temperatures are set to dramatically drop from after 6pm tonight to a freezing -4c.

A so-called “polar low” is set to take grip of the country for the next three days. A yellow alert has been issued by the forecaster who claim the heaviest snowfall will be seen in counties in Ulster and Connacht.

The Road Safety Authority has told motorists to take serious care as black ice will be on roads from 5am tomorrow morning.
