The national forecaster has issued an urgent Status Orange weather warning for heavy rain covering Tipperary and Waterford.
Many areas across these counties might see rainfall in excess of 50mm, which may lead to severe, localised flooding.
The warning will kick in at 3pm and remain in place until 6pm today.
