Met Eireann has issued a status yellow weather warning for the entire country as more snowfalls are expected throughout the day.
Lows of -2C were recorded last night, and the thermometer is not expected to rise beyond 2 or 3C across most of Ireland today.
Snow showers are expected to move westward throughout the day, tending to die out towards evening with the worst affected areas being in Leinster and southeast Munster.
The good news is that temperatures are set to rise over the coming days with Thursday and Friday seeing highs of 10c.
