A Status Yellow rainfall warning remains in effect until midnight for counties Carlow, Dublin, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, and Waterford. Outbreaks of rain, heavy at times, continue this evening and into the night, particularly in Leinster and Ulster, with showers spreading south. Forecasters warn that even moderate additional rainfall could trigger further surface water issues and difficult travel conditions on already flooded roads.
Recent flooding has impacted homes and businesses in areas like Enniscorthy and Aughrim, prompting clean-up efforts and resident frustration. Emergency services stay on alert, urging vigilance. A separate Yellow warning starts tomorrow for similar regions, signalling ongoing threats over the coming days.
