Make no mistake Storm Lorenzo will bring strong gales and heavy rain but it appears as though it might not be as bad as Met Eireann initially suspected.
Winds have picked up quite substantially in western counties and north western counties but as far as the rest of the country is concerned, Lorenzo appears to be just any other day.
The worst of the storm was to start from 6pm on Thursday and push through until 6am on Friday morning. That now appears to somewhat of an overreaction as Storm Lorenzo will gently lighten as it passes from west to east and will completely dissipate once it reaches central Europe.
Precautions are advised however and people have been reminded to stay away from coastal areas, cliffs, the sea, high lying ground and any other dangerous locations in gale force winds.
