There has been a multiple vehicle car crash on the M1 motorway in County Louth.
According to reports, up to 8 cars have been involved in the crash which happened just before 6pm northbound near Monasterboice.
A large emergency service response has been deployed to the scene where ambulances, gardai, and the fire brigade are attending.
Traffic is being diverted through Collon onto the N2 and then re-joining the M1 closer to Dunleer. Traffic is at standstill encompassing the entire area close to the crash. There has been no further information released in relation to injuries of those involved.
