A murder investigation is under way after the body of a 64-yr-old man has been found in the Dublin Mountains around 5am this morning.
The body of the man was discovered in a wooded area at Ballinascorney Hill in Brittas.
Sources have confirmed the man too at least one serious blow to the head in what appears to be an unprovoked attack.
The man, who lives in the area, went out to walk his dogs at 6.30am on Friday morning and had been missing since.
His remains have been taken to Tallaght Hospital for a post-mortem examination and the State Pathologist has been called in.
