Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a press conference this evening , his second since the U.S.-Israeli war against Iran began on February 28. Addressing international media virtually from Jerusalem amid ongoing conflict and recent rumours about his health, Netanyahu opened by quipping, “First of all, I just want to say that I’m alive and you’re all witnesses,” directly countering online speculation fuelled by Iranian sources that he was dead or injured.
In his remarks, Netanyahu declared a major strategic victory, stating that after 20 days of joint U.S.-Israeli airstrikes, Iran “no longer has the capacity to enrich uranium or make ballistic missiles.” He emphasized that Iran’s missile and drone arsenals have been “massively degraded” and “will be destroyed,” with attacks now targeting production facilities for missiles and nuclear components. “We are winning, and Iran is being decimated,” he asserted, describing the Iranian regime as “weaker than ever.”
Netanyahu highlighted alignment with U.S. President Donald Trump, noting full coordination on preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. He addressed the possibility of regime change in Iran, saying it was “up to the Iranian people” to decide their future and that it was “too soon” to know if they would seize the created conditions to act. The press conference underscored Israel’s unilateral actions in some strikes while noting restraint at U.S. request on further escalations.
The event, amid escalating regional tensions including Iranian retaliatory attacks on energy sites, reinforced Netanyahu’s message of determination and progress in degrading Tehran’s military and nuclear capabilities.
