It’s not looking more and more likely that there will be a no-deal Brexit after British MPs voted against all four alternatives to Prime Minister Theresa May’s Brexit agreement.
Even though Conservative MPs were given a free vote tonight in an effort to get the House of Commons to make some sort of agreement, that wasn’t the case.
There four alternatives were:
Motion C, which calls on the government to seek to negotiate a permanent customs union with the EU
Motion D, which calls on the government to seek an enhanced ‘Norway-style’ exit deal known as Common Market 2.0
Motion E, which calls for confirmatory referendum to approve the Brexit deal
Motion G, which calls for the government to revoke Article 50 as a last resort to prevent a no-deal Brexit
The most important vote is that MPs voted against a second referendum on Brexit.
