BREAKING: Pope Francis cancels event due to illness ONE DAY after showing solidarity with coronavirus sufferers

Pope Francis has cancelled an event in Rome after he felt ill this morning – one day after showing solidarity with coronavirus sufferers on Ash Wednesday afternoon.

It’s understood that the Pontiff was coughing and blowing his nose but no official word has been released from the Vatican other than saying the Pope will be continuing his work later on Thursday evening.

Pope Francis prayed for all those affected by the coronavirus during Mass.

His advisers strongly warned him not to go near the public on this occasion but he didn’t heed their advice and he met the public after Mass, shaking hands and kissing some on their heads – even though he was highly advised not to do so for fears of the coronavirus in the area.
