There was a number of social media users claiming that a man allegedly attacked bus passengers on a Dublin Bus near Tallaght.
However, The Liberal has contacted Gardai for a statement in relation to the social media users’ claims.
A member of An Gardai told The Liberal that a man aged in his 30s is currently being detained after a standoff near a bus in Tallaght. No further details at this time.
However, it’s understood that the man arrested was armed with a screwdriver after attempting to rob a petrol station in broad daylight in the vicinity of the bus. A member of the gardai can be seen in the footage below armed with a handgun pointing towards the door and bus stop area of where the bus is stopped.
