BREAKING: Ruby Walsh with Burrows Saint wins the Irish Grand National in Fairyhouse

After a very awkward start where the jockeys were finding it difficult to line up together, eventually the Irish Grand National got underway.

Ryanair’s Michael O’Leary had a dozen horses running in the National.

Total Recall was leading for most of the race with Whisper in the Breeze, Gun Digger bringing up the rear of the main group. Total Recall went wide towards the last jump of the race and Danny Mullens on I love hope and dreams making much ground.

Whisper in the Breeze for Paddy Kennedy was in the mix for much of the race with Jury Duty surprisingly dropping back.

With quite some time to go, Whisper in the Breeze made a break for it and led the race from 7 furlongs out.

But on the turn for home, Ruby Walsh made a break for it and Burrows Saint won it on lucky number 13.
