Schools are likely to begin reopening on a phased basis from March 1.
It is understood that talks are ongoing between Government representatives and teachers’ unions and that an agreement will be put in place for some primary schools to initially open from March the 1st with the rest of primary schools and secondary schools to begin to reopen in the following weeks.
Along with that, there is also talks ongoing about a ‘deal’ on this year’s Leaving Cert situation with the result more than likely being a written or graded option for students.
The government will announce plans later today.
