Police Scotland has announced the recovery of a second woman’s body in the ongoing search for two sisters who vanished in Aberdeen. The body was found near Victoria Bridge on the River Dee, where the sisters, Eliza and Henrietta Huszti, were last seen on CCTV footage in the early hours of January 7, reports Sky.
Formal identification is yet to occur, but authorities have informed the sisters’ family. The first body was discovered earlier in the week, also near Victoria Bridge, and while identification is pending, the family was notified at that time as well.
The sisters, both aged 32 and originally from Hungary, had moved to Scotland a decade ago. They were last seen together, walking near the river before they disappeared. Their case has been treated as a missing persons inquiry, with no indication of criminal activity.
Police Scotland has been actively searching the River Dee and surrounding areas, utilizing various resources including dive teams, dogs, and aerial support. Despite the tragic findings, the police continue their investigations to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the sisters’ disappearance.
The local community and the sisters’ family await further details as the police work to piece together what happened. This discovery marks a sombre turn in a case that has gripped Aberdeen and beyond, leaving many hoping for closure and answers.
