In one of the many shock results of the election, Minister for Children and Youth Affairs Katherine Zappone has lost her seat and will not be in the next government.
Katherine Zappone, who ran in the Dublin South-West constituency, has been eliminated this evening.
Zappone suffered severe criticism in the last few years over the childcare situation in the country and a protest was held by childcare workers in the last few days of the election campaign.
Being as old as she is, it’s highly unlikely that Zappone will have any chance of a comeback.
