The Taoiseach Micheal Martin is to make a broadcast to the nation in relation to counties Kildare, Offaly and Laois.
It’s understood that residents will not be allowed to travel outside of their counties except for in limited circumstances which include travel to and from work.
Bars, restaurants, cinemas and gyms will all be closed with immediate effect from midnight tonight and remain in place for two weeks.
