The bodies of a man and a woman have been found at a house in the village of Irishtown, Co Mayo, along with a second younger man who is said to be badly injured and has been taken to Galway University Hospital.
The man who died is believed to be aged in his 70s and the woman in her 60s.
Gardaí were called to the scene shortly after 3 pm when the alarm was raised by a family acquaintance. They are now investigating the circumstances of what has occurred in the tragedy.
