The wearing of face masks could soon be compulsory in shops and other indoor areas.
It is understood that the Cabinet is considering an extension to the wearing of face masks following a recent rise in cases.
Although no official decision has yet been made, it is believed that the cabinet will make the decision after other countries in Europe introduced such measures in recent weeks.
