Three people have been shot dead in Omeath in Co.Louth. One of those killed was a Garda. An investigation is now underway. The two other fatalities were both members of the same family.
It is believed that the Gardaí were responding to a call in relation to a domestic incident. The incident happened at around 6pm this evening in a house in the village of Omeath.
The area has been sealed off and the offices of the state pathologist are being notified.
